Minneapolis - Do Not Lose Your Voice

Dear Minneapolis community,

Thank you to those that refuse to quiet those voices. Some days the hardest part of this is trying to empathize with people who are trying to show up, but are missing the mark. I’m scared it’s becoming “Oh well I did this last time” or “Our organization participated in the last strike” or “What? I’m supposed to put my life on hold for every protest between now and when they leave?”. I’m already starting to see it start to trickle through. We have people and organizations who are making their voices louder and louder with each week of no resolution, but we also have voices getting quieter and quieter…and that’s really disheartening to see. So, Minneapolis, please don’t quiet your voice. If you’re in the service industry and literally cannot close your doors due to having to help others, please work with your community to find other ways that you can keep your voice load. This community is amazing, and there is no shortage of ways to show up, even if you can’t do it in the conventional ways.

Signed,

A Minnesotan with a megaphone
